  1. Sharonville Operations:
    1. Work Schedule
      1. Plant is returning to pre-COVID-19 staffing levels. All employees should expect to report to work as per the following schedules:
        1. 1st shift will run 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Monday through Friday.
        2. 2nd shift will run 5:00 PM – 1:30 AM Monday through Friday.
        3. HR has attempted to contact all employees. If you have not been contacted, please plant to report to work per the schedule listed above.
        4. Safe Work Protocols will remain in place. Please continue to follow these general safety rules:
          1. DO NOT REPORT TO WORK if you are sick or have symptoms of any illness.
          2. DO NOT REPORT TO WORK if you are living with or have had recent contact with someone showing symptoms of or who has tested positive for COVID-19.
          3. Please contact HR to discuss your return to work options and schedule.
    1. Office employees are returning to full schedule beginning 6/1. Office staff not directly supporting production should consult with their manager about remote work schedules. Remote works schedules may be continued to limit exposure in the plant.
  2. West Chester Operations:
    1. Limited production will run to build inventory and meet service shipments for the week of, 6/1.
    2. Employees scheduled to work in any department will be contacted by HR to be given their schedule.
    3. All other production employees will continue to be furloughed until further notice.
    4. Office employees will remain on reduced schedule. Staff supporting production should consult their manager for their schedule for the week of 6/1. Office staff not directly supporting production should continue working from home unless notified otherwise by their manager.
  1. Sharonville Operations:
    1. Work Schedule
      1. Additional production will begin the week of 5/25.
        1. Monday, 5/25 is Memorial Day (Paid Holiday)
        2. 1st shift will run 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Tuesday through Friday.
        3. 2nd shift will run 5:00 PM – 1:30 AM Tuesday through Friday.
      2. All employees scheduled to work in any department will be contacted by HR to be given their schedule.
    2. Office employees supporting production should consult with their manager for their schedule for the week of 5/25. Office staff not directly supporting production should continue working from home unless notified otherwise by their manager.
  2. West Chester Operations:

Dear UIC Employee,

Under the Ohio Medical Director’s Order issued Sunday March 22, 2020, Usui International Corporation must immediately shut down its West Chester and Sharonville Ohio operations. Management regrets having to close our operations and the impact on our employees. Management expects that the layoff could extend through May 1, 2020. However, management will call back employees as soon as practical based on customer orders and government instructions.

During the layoff, please note the following:

  • Unemployment Benefits – You may file for unemployment benefits. A separate notice has been provided. Note, any compensation received during the week will reduce your unemployment benefit.
  • Medical Benefits – UIC will continue your medical benefits through May 1, 2020. No contributions will be assessed to those on layoff or reduced schedules.
  • Vacation Time – Employees may request vacation time during the shutdown. However, this will impact your unemployment compensation.
  • Stay up to date with Announcements by reviewing the usuiusa.com website.
